Mazda, as one of the world's largest and most exciting vehicle manufacturers, are committed to developing young people. A technician apprenticeship, working with one of our network dealers, is a fantastic start to your working life. We are looking for young people with an agile and logical mind wishing to combine those skills with a practical approach to working. Starting your career as an apprentice with Mazda gives you the skills and qualifications to develop your prospects as your aspirations grow.

You will need the ability to work with computers, extract data and then get stuck-in to electrical and mechanical systems with specialist equipment, parts and hand tools. There's no better career to combine your mental agility with your practical skills.

The Mazda Advanced Apprenticeship Programme is open to all young people. Successful applicants will have employment at one of our dealers allowing you to earn whilst developing skills and knowledge. Our vehicles, customers and colleagues deserve the best and your development is paramount to deliver that goal.

Periodically attending our Apprentice Academy for specific training will give you specialist knowledge to enable you to be part of the best team.

If you don't want to continue studying at school or college but do want equivalent 'A' level qualifications that would allow you to progress your career at higher levels in the future then apply today. Qualifications gained through training:

Apprenticeship in light vehicle maintenance and repair, progressing to Advanced Level III and Mazda Technician.
Equivalent to 2 A levels

Residential training location:

Ruddington. (Don't worry, funding arrangements are taken care of.)

Training model:

Employed by dealer, gaining experience and knowledge on a daily basis, with periodic reviews to assess competence. Residential training split in to 20 one week blocks over 3 years for technicians.

How will I track my progress through out the apprenticeship?

All evidence will be logged onto an e-portfolio so you and your manager can see your progress at all times. This will include training block reports and workplace reviews.

Entry Criteria:

Good mechanical comprehension but high level of personal motivation, drive and passion for motor vehicles.

Based at Ruddington, Nottingham the Apprenticeship Programme is part of the Mazda Technical Academy.

Qualifications:

The awarding body used by the Apprenticeship Programme is the Institute of the Motor Industry (IMI). The Apprenticeship is comprised of the following qualifications delivered over a three year period during one week blocks:

  • NVQ level 2 progressing to NVQ level 3 in Maintenance and Repair of Light Vehicles
  • IMI Technical Certificate level 2 and progressing to the IMI Diploma at level 3 in Maintenance and Repair of Light Vehicles
  • Key and Core Skill Certificates
  • Advanced Apprenticeship Completion Certificate

In addition to the above apprentice qualifications, those who successfully complete the Mazda Technical courses embedded in the three year programme will qualify as a Mazda Technician. There is also the opportunity to complete the Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) at Service Technician level. In addition to these industry recognised qualifications, the programme provides a structured progression into the Mazda Masters Technician structure, ensuring your future career development within the Mazda Dealer Network.
